Morning in London

الصباح في لندن

Adam opened his eyes. The room was quiet.

فتح آدم عينيه. كانت الغرفة هادئة.

He could hear rain on the window. Soft, gentle rain.

سمع صوت المطر على النافذة. مطر ناعم وهادئ.

He smiled. This was his first day in London. He had read about life in the UK before his trip.

ابتسم. كان هذا يومه الأول في لندن.

He got dressed, put on a warm jacket, and went downstairs.

ارتدى ملابسه، ولبس سترة دافئة، ونزل إلى الطابق السفلي.

The hotel had a small breakfast room. It smelled like toast and coffee.

كان في الفندق غرفة فطور صغيرة. كانت رائحتها خبزًا محمّصًا وقهوة.

He sat by the window and ordered tea with milk and two slices of toast.

جلس بجانب النافذة وطلب شايًا مع حليب وشريحتين من الخبز المحمّص.

Outside, people walked with umbrellas. Red buses passed slowly.

في الخارج، مشى الناس بمظلاتهم. مرّت الحافلات الحمراء ببطء.

Adam looked at the city and felt happy. He was ready.

نظر آدم إلى المدينة وشعر بالسعادة. كان مستعدًا.

Riding the London Tube

ركوب مترو أنفاق لندن

He walked to the nearest Underground station. The sign said "King's Cross."

مشى إلى أقرب محطة مترو أنفاق. كانت اللافتة تقول "كينغز كروس."

He bought a ticket from the machine using contactless payment — technology in the UK makes travel simple. It was easier than he expected.

اشترى تذكرة من الآلة. كان الأمر أسهل ممّا توقّع.

The train arrived quickly. It was warm inside.

وصل القطار بسرعة. كان دافئًا في الداخل.

People sat quietly, reading books or looking at their phones.

جلس الناس بهدوء، يقرؤون كتبًا أو ينظرون إلى هواتفهم.

A voice said: "Mind the gap." Adam smiled. He had heard this phrase before.

قال صوت: "انتبه للفجوة." ابتسم آدم. كان قد سمع هذه العبارة من قبل.

He got off at Westminster. When he came up the stairs, he saw Big Ben.

نزل في محطة وستمنستر. عندما صعد الدرج، رأى ساعة بيغ بن.

It was taller than he imagined. He stood still and just looked at it.

كانت أطول ممّا تخيّل. وقف ساكنًا ونظر إليها فقط.

A Walk by the River Thames

نزهة بجانب نهر التيمز

Adam walked along the River Thames. The water was dark and calm.

مشى آدم على طول نهر التيمز. كان الماء داكنًا وهادئًا.

He saw boats moving slowly under the bridges.

رأى قوارب تتحرّك ببطء تحت الجسور.

A man was playing the guitar near the water. The music was soft and beautiful.

كان رجل يعزف الغيتار بالقرب من الماء. كانت الموسيقى ناعمة وجميلة.

Adam stopped and listened for a while. He put a coin in the man's hat.

توقّف آدم واستمع لبعض الوقت. وضع عملة في قبّعة الرجل.

The man looked up and said: "Cheers, mate."

نظر الرجل إلى الأعلى وقال: "شكرًا يا صديقي."

Adam did not know what "cheers" meant at first. Then he understood — it means "thank you."

لم يعرف آدم ما تعني "cheers" في البداية. ثم فهم — إنها تعني "شكرًا."

He kept walking. The rain had stopped, and the clouds were turning white.

واصل المشي. كان المطر قد توقّف، والغيوم بدأت تتحوّل إلى اللون الأبيض.

Lunch in a London Cafe

الغداء في مقهى لندني

By noon, Adam was hungry. He found a small cafe near a park.

بحلول الظهر، كان آدم جائعًا. وجد مقهى صغيرًا بالقرب من حديقة.

He ordered a chicken sandwich and a cup of tea. The tea came in a white cup with a saucer.

طلب ساندويتش دجاج وكوب شاي. جاء الشاي في كوب أبيض مع صحن صغير.

The sandwich was simple but good. Fresh bread, warm chicken, and a little bit of butter.

كان الساندويتش بسيطًا لكنه لذيذ. خبز طازج ودجاج دافئ وقليل من الزبدة.

He sat outside and watched people go by. Everyone seemed calm. No one was in a hurry.

جلس في الخارج وراقب الناس يمرّون. الجميع بدا هادئًا. لم يكن أحد في عجلة.

A pigeon landed near his table. It looked at him as if to say: "Any food for me?"

حطّ حمام بالقرب من طاولته. نظر إليه كأنه يقول: "هل عندك طعام لي؟"

Adam laughed and gave it a small piece of bread.

ضحك آدم وأعطاه قطعة صغيرة من الخبز.

Hyde Park in the Afternoon

هايد بارك في فترة بعد الظهر

After lunch, he walked into Hyde Park. The grass was very green.

بعد الغداء، دخل إلى حديقة هايد بارك. كان العشب أخضر جدًا.

Children were running and laughing. A dog was chasing a ball.

كان الأطفال يركضون ويضحكون. كان كلب يلاحق كرة.

Adam found a bench under a big tree. He sat down and took a deep breath.

وجد آدم مقعدًا تحت شجرة كبيرة. جلس وأخذ نفسًا عميقًا.

The air smelled like wet grass and flowers. It was peaceful.

كانت رائحة الهواء مثل العشب الرطب والزهور. كان المكان هادئًا.

He closed his eyes for a moment and listened to the birds.

أغمض عينيه للحظة واستمع إلى العصافير.

He thought: "London is big, but it has quiet places too."

فكّر: "لندن كبيرة، لكن فيها أماكن هادئة أيضًا."

Evening at Tower Bridge

المساء عند جسر البرج

In the late afternoon, the sky turned orange and pink.

في وقت متأخّر من بعد الظهر، تحوّلت السماء إلى اللون البرتقالي والوردي.

Adam walked to Tower Bridge. The lights were coming on across the city.

مشى آدم إلى جسر البرج. كانت الأضواء تُضاء في أنحاء المدينة.

The bridge looked magical at night. The water below reflected all the lights.

بدا الجسر ساحرًا في الليل. الماء في الأسفل عكس جميع الأضواء.

He took a photo with his phone. He wanted to remember this moment.

التقط صورة بهاتفه. أراد أن يتذكّر هذه اللحظة.

He found a small fish and chips shop near the bridge. The shop was warm and busy.

وجد محل سمك وبطاطا مقلية صغيرًا بالقرب من الجسر. كان المحل دافئًا ومزدحمًا.

He ordered fish and chips with salt and vinegar. It came wrapped in paper.

طلب سمكًا وبطاطا مقلية مع ملح وخل. جاءت ملفوفة في ورق.

He ate it standing by the river. The chips were hot and crispy.

أكلها واقفًا بجانب النهر. كانت البطاطا ساخنة ومقرمشة.

He thought: "Now I understand why British people love this so much." He remembered reading about the connections between the UK and Saudi Arabia.

فكّر: "الآن أفهم لماذا يحبّ البريطانيون هذا كثيرًا."

Going Back to the Hotel

العودة إلى الفندق

It was getting late. The streets were quieter now.

كان الوقت يتأخّر. الشوارع أصبحت أهدأ الآن.

Adam took the Tube back to his hotel. The train was almost empty.

أخذ آدم المترو عائدًا إلى فندقه. كان القطار شبه فارغ.

He sat down and looked at the photos on his phone. Big Ben. The river. The bridge at night.

جلس ونظر إلى الصور على هاتفه. بيغ بن. النهر. الجسر في الليل.

Back in his room, he made a cup of tea from the small kettle by the desk.

في غرفته، حضّر كوب شاي من الغلاية الصغيرة بجانب المكتب.

He sat on the bed and drank his tea slowly.

جلس على السرير وشرب شايه ببطء.

The rain started again. He could hear it tapping on the window.

بدأ المطر مرة أخرى. سمع صوته يطرق على النافذة.

He smiled and thought: "London is a good place."

ابتسم وفكّر: "لندن مكان جميل."

Then he turned off the light and closed his eyes.

ثم أطفأ النور وأغمض عينيه.

Tomorrow, he would explore more. Maybe one day, he would visit beautiful places in Saudi Arabia too.

But for now, the rain and the tea and the quiet room were enough.

لكن الآن، كان المطر والشاي والغرفة الهادئة كافية.
