Noor, our Personal English Coach, uses the Claude AI model (Anthropic) to power personalised coaching. Important facts:

• Chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response
• Conversation history is NOT stored on our servers — it exists only in your browser session and clears when you close the tab
• We store aggregate learning data locally on your device only (mistake categories, practice counts)
• We do not use your conversation content to train AI models
• Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how API requests are processed
• Do not share sensitive personal information (passport numbers, bank details) in the chat

We send emails only for:

• Account verification (one-time email to confirm your address)
• Password reset (only when you request it)
• Important platform updates that directly affect your account
• Newsletter / waitlist updates — only if you voluntarily subscribe via our site

We never send promotional emails without your consent. Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including:

• Passwords hashed with bcrypt (work factor 12) — never stored in plain text
• Short-lived authentication tokens (access tokens expire in 15 minutes)
• HTTPS enforced across all pages
• httpOnly cookies for refresh tokens — inaccessible to JavaScript
• Rate limiting on all authentication endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks

No system is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you by email within 72 hours of becoming aware.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
• Deletion — request permanent deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — request your learning data in a portable format
• Unsubscribe — opt out of emails at any time

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Upon a deletion request, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it.

Learning progress stored in your browser's localStorage is entirely under your control — clear it anytime in your browser settings.

Our platform is designed for adult learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
